No drop damage, no water damage… Every single agent I spoke to said that those 3 components had to be replaced, but none of them could give me a reason why. First fishy thing here: my phone was in perfect condition from the outside. Also, they would have to replace both the motherboard and the LCD screen. They reported that scratches on the back panel were causing the phone to behave like this. This seemed completely off so I tried calling Samsung over multiple days, speaking to 10 or more agents. The notes said “LCD replacement” and “PBA replacement” (which is the motherboard). I sent the phone in and got a pre-repair bill for almost $500. It would just flash the Samsung logo when it was plugged in, rendering it completely unusable. My Samsung Note 8 was having an issue where it died and wouldn't come back on. The phone came back extremely scratched up. So I told them to send the phone back and not to do the repairs. Tried to charge me nearly $500 for repairs that weren't necessary and WOULDN'T fix the issue I sent it in for. If and once he receives his phone we will update this review to include the quality of the repairs. Fast forward 4 more days and he stills sees “product under inspection” so he calls again and to our surprise “the device is with a technician being repaired” like I said he would not mind waiting but it dosen't take a rocket scientist to realize it shouldn't take 4 days to inspect a phone and shouldn't take 4 days to repair it once in the hands of a technician, in fact it says on Samsung website that once in the hands of a technician “repairs typically take less than 2 hours”. He called Samsung repair center customer service 4 days in and was told they are “currently” repairing your device. My husband does not mind waiting so simply let him know hey your product hasn't been inspected yet. Either way they are doing something wrong. Either they are unpr ofessional for not correctly updating the information or it in fact took them 168+ hours to see the obvious which says something about the people repairing the devices. Fast forward a week and they are somehow still inspecting his phone, took us 30 seconds to realize there is in fact a broken screen and send it in for repair. My husband sent his phone to this repair center over a week ago since the day they received it it says product under inspection, of course using logic we assumed they are currently inspecting the phone, but we almost certain that when they updated to “product under inspection” it was still siting in the box we sent it.
